First sign of Ice on Lake Oahe in Mobridge

by Mobridge Outdoors ~ December 2, 2008

After cold nights, light winds, and a little help from Mother Nature, Lake Oahe near Mobridge, South Dakota has its first sign of ice.  In shallow bays the frozen sheet is starting to show itself.  With colder weather to hit the Dakotas the next couple of days, we should see ice conditions slowly improve, and with a little help, ice fishing by Christmas!  There is still boat access to the water, and should be for a couple of more weeks.
