Pheasant Hunters Welcome Recent Blizzard
by Mobridge Outdoors ~ November 12, 2008
You don’t have to travel far in North Central South Dakota to see the impact on pheasants by the way of the winter season’s first snow. With most of the soybeans, sunflowers, and a portion of the corn crop harvested, the pheasant population near Mobridge are becoming increasingly exposed. In the past four days there has been a noticeable increase of birds out along gravel roads and in CRP. The birds have also been more concentratedallowing hunters to take advantage of the high population of pheasants. As the corn continues to be harvested by area farmers we will see a shift from pheasants seeking shelter in row crops to CRP and shelter belts. Hunters should experience some great pheasant hunting in the near future as more and more cover is in the grain bins. For more information contact the Mobridge Chamber of Commerce.
