Pheasant Season Starts Tomorrow

PIERRE – Abundant pheasant numbers are expected when the regular pheasant hunting season opens Saturday in South Dakota.

The daily possession limit is three cock pheasants, with an overall possession limit of 15 pheasants, taken according to the daily limit. Fifteen birds may not be possessed until after the fifth day of hunting.

Shooting hours are 12 noon, Central time, to sunset Oct. 18 through Oct. 24; and 10 a.m., Central time, to sunset the rest of the season. Central time is used statewide for opening shooting hours.

The season will remain open until Jan. 4, 2009.
